The Rancho Bernardo Sunrise Rotary Club expects to raise more than $100,000 at its 15th annual Rancho BEERnardo Festival on Saturday, Oct. 3, at Webb Park.

The adults-only fundraiser is the club's largest event of the year. Over 15 years, the festival has generated roughly $1.2 million for programs serving seniors, veterans, youth and people with disabilities, according to Rotary District 5340.

Festival co-chair Laura Mello, in details first reported by the San Diego Union-Tribune, said the club hopes to draw 800 to 1,000 guests. Last year's festival brought about 900.

"We are hoping to raise more than $100,000 for our grants and programs," Mello said.

Past local beneficiaries include the Community Food Connection in Poway, Poway High Robotics, Oasis Rancho Bernardo, the Poway Center for the Performing Arts, the Rancho Bernardo Historical Society and Spirit of the Fourth. The club also funds international projects such as Rotary's Polio Plus and the Free Wheelchair Mission.

More than 35 breweries, wineries and craft beverage makers are set to pour. Confirmed breweries as of Tuesday, Sept. 29, included AleSmith Brewing Company, Coronado Brewing Company, Karl Strauss Brewing Company, The Lost Abbey, Societe Brewing Company and Culture Brewing Co., among others. Mello said about a dozen more were expected to join.

Home brewers Mash Heads and Quaff will again brew beers made exclusively for the festival. Monday Morning Bottle Shop returns as the mocktail vendor with a doubled tent setup after strong demand last year.

Live music comes from The Rubber Band, a group of Rancho Bernardo Westwood neighborhood residents that Rotary District 5340 calls "Westwood's own garage dad-band." The lineup also includes free cornhole and a photo booth.

Food vendors include Duffs Doggz for hot dogs, The Shop for pizza and Mama V's Lumpia for Filipino cuisine. The VIP area adds lobster rolls from Duffs Doggz and snacks from Karen's Nuts.
